The brief
To maximise the information available for Rohm and Haas managers to enable them to make informed, key decisions about the business - fast.
The outcome
The BI solution, in which Altimus acted as technical architects, extracts sales data from all the transaction systems in Rohm and Haas. These include information in software from Prism, PRMS, Baan, JD Edwards, SAP, and even in spreadsheets. It transforms this data into a homogeneous form and makes it available through ProClarity to over 250 users worldwide. In addition Excel reports are automatically emailed to all Rohm and Haas' sales people throughout US and Europe, listing the sales for the period and year that are relevant to each sales person.
In technology terms, data is extracted and stored in Microsoft SQL server. Microsoft Analysis Services is used to generate analysis cubes, and finally ProClarity's software enables the end user to explore the data. For those sales users, who are on the road, an Excel pivot-table based solution was chosen as this enables fast distribution by email, and keeps training costs down.
