The brief
Altimus was engaged to deliver key performance metrics and enable business users to identify business trends, investigate underlying data and inform for better business management. The solution was to be used in across the sales, marketing and finance functions, but the focus was to be strongly on operational metrics to support the company's ground breaking 'Lean Manufacturing' initiative. This lean approach, with cycle time reduction, drives real differentiation for the client and its customers.
The outcome
Microsoft SQL Server technology was used to extract, transform and load the data into user-focused data marts. Standard office tools such as Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel were used to view and manipulate the information held in the marts. The client's messaging infrastructure was also leveraged to deliver timely information to sales staff and other business people on the move.
